Cancer
Focusing specifically on cancer genes, using both monogenic and polygenic risk panels as part of a whole genome test provides powerful, personalised insights into your cancer risk profile
All Genetic testing packages come with Genetic Counseling or GP service
Monogenic Cancer Risk Panels
These panels look for rare, high-impact mutations in single genes (monogenic), such as BRCA1/2 (breast/ovarian cancer), TP53 (Li-Fraumeni syndrome), MLH1/MSH2 (Lynch syndrome/colorectal cancer), and others.
Polygenic Cancer Risk Panels
What they are: These panels assess hundreds or thousands of common genetic variants (SNPs) across your genome. Individually, these variants have a small effect, but when combined into a polygenic risk score (PRS), they can meaningfully stratify your overall genetic risk for cancers like breast, prostate, or colorectal cancer.
Why Combine Both?
Comprehensive risk assessment:
Most cancer risk is not explained by single genes alone. Combining monogenic and polygenic panels gives a much more complete picture.
Tailored prevention strategies:
If you have moderate monogenic risk but a high polygenic score, your overall risk could be substantially higher—and your care plan can be adjusted accordingly.
Population-wide relevance:
While monogenic mutations are rare, polygenic risk impacts a much larger segment of the population.
